Itinerary – 4 Days Ouarzazate to Desert & Marrakech

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Skoura Oasis – Valley of Roses – Dades Valley

You begin your journey by leaving Ouarzazate toward the beautiful palm oasis of Skoura, where the iconic Amridil Kasbah proudly stands as one of the finest examples of southern Moroccan architecture. After exploring the oasis, you travel through the Valley of Roses, famous for its blooming rose fields and cooperatives producing rose water and natural cosmetics. The road then leads you deeper into the mountains toward the Dades Valley, where dramatic rock formations, fortified villages, and winding canyon roads create unforgettable scenery. You spend your evening in a charming hotel overlooking the valley, enjoying dinner with views of the surrounding cliffs.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga – Camel Trek

After breakfast, you continue through the mountains toward the impressive Todra Gorges, where the towering limestone walls rise dramatically on both sides of the riverbed. You walk through the gorge, capturing photographs and enjoying the refreshing atmosphere. The journey then crosses the palm groves of Tinejdad and Jorf until reaching Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops. As you approach Merzouga, the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi appear in the distance and create a breathtaking welcome to the Sahara. You ride camels through the dunes at sunset, stopping to enjoy the peace of the desert before arriving at your luxury camp. After dinner, Berber drums warm the evening as millions of stars illuminate the sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Agdz – Ouarzazate

You wake early to watch the sun rise over the dunes before breakfast at the camp. Your journey continues to Rissani, the cradle of Morocco’s Alaouite dynasty and home to one of the largest traditional souks in the south. You then travel across desert plains toward Alnif and Tazzarine, crossing rugged landscapes dotted with acacia trees and small Berber settlements. As you approach the Draa Valley, long lines of palm groves and ancient kasbahs mark the way toward Agdz. You follow the winding road along the valley until you reach Ouarzazate, where you spend the night in a comfortable riad or hotel.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – Marrakech

Your final day begins with a short drive to Aït Ben Haddou, the most famous ksar in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its role in films and series such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and The Mummy. You explore the narrow alleys and clay architecture before continuing your journey through the High Atlas Mountains. The road climbs gently toward the 2,260-meter Tizi n’Tichka Pass, offering sweeping views of valleys, forests, and Berber villages clinging to the slopes.
